Once I learned how to Skype in the classroom, I got very excited! I scheduled many classes to meet other classes and museums around the world. Students were so excited to see other students from far away and had many questions for them. The BYU Bean museum sparked many questions as students saw live animals through the screen and talked with the presenter. On this blog I want to help connect you to others who are wanting to do the same things. Global Connection This video is an inspirational video on how and why we should connect globally.
Mystery Skype
A Mystery Skype is where two classrooms meet via Skype (or Google Hangout) and try to figure where the other is from. Each class takes turns asking yes or no questions. Which class will figure it out first? It's a great way for younger students to use words like, east, west, boarder, ocean etc.
Mystery Skype with Roles
Some classrooms run their mystery skype more structured than others. This teacher has gone paperless (yay!) and is converting her worksheets into Docs. She distributes a copy to each student and they type in the table (boapp development companiesh text but rather defaults to the next line.
